You belong to me is a short experimental video, a montage and deconstruction of gestures of possession, of relationships of desire and ambivalence. The soundtrack is a combination of appropriated pop songs: “you belong to me” is continually reiterated in pop culture.

In the first half of the tape, the images and music evoke the claustrophobia and objectifying aspect of being possessed. The other side of belonging is that we all desire to belong; the second half acknowledges this, however with an intentionally ambivalent tone.
